Ruhr-Park Bochum

GFR building automation technology in the largest shopping center in Germany

The Ruhr Park shopping center in Bochum is one of the largest shopping centers in Germany with a leasable area of 125,000 m² (of which 71,500 m² sales area) and 140 shops. The annual goods turnover amounts to more than 250 million euros.

Extensive modernization for an even better shopping experience

The Ruhr Park in Bochum, opened in 1964, is considered the first shopping center in Germany to be built on the "green field" outside the city center, following the example of a US shopping mall. The green meadow, however, has now been fully developed and part of the city. The Ruhr Park developed parallel to the traffic-technically optimally attached crowd pullers for many inhabitants of Bochum and the nearby Ruhrgebiet cities. On average, 140,000 to 160,000 customers visit the approximately 250,000 m2 site per week. So that the shopping center does not lose its attractiveness, Unibail-Rodamco Germany invested in extensive modernization and restructuring.

We automate the shopping center to the full satisfaction of the operator and ensure with "invisible intelligence" and regulatory strategies that a visit to the Ruhrpark Bochum becomes a real shopping highlight.
